Timelines & calendar

Turn your plan into a timeline

Your board shows how the work fits together. The timeline shows when it happens. In Flowboard they’re the same plan, so dates never live in a separate tool.

Plans and schedules drift apart

Keep the plan in one place and the schedule in another, and they stop matching within a week. A timeline built straight from your steps and milestones stays accurate because there’s only one source.

How it works in Flowboard

  1. 1

    Date your steps

Add start and due dates to steps, and target dates to milestones.

  2. 2

    Open the timeline

See every dated step and milestone as a Gantt-style timeline, so overlaps and gaps stand out.

  3. 3

    Check the calendar

Switch to the calendar view to see what’s due on which day.

  4. 4

    Catch slips early

Steps past their due date are flagged as overdue on the board, and critical path highlights the chain of steps that decides your finish date.

When to use it

  • You have a fixed launch or delivery date
  • Several steps run at the same time
  • You need to show a schedule to a client or manager
  • Planning weekly or monthly work

Common questions

Do I have to maintain the timeline separately?
No. The timeline and calendar are views of your board, so changing a date on a step updates them.
Can I track time as well as dates?
Yes. Steps can hold an estimate and the hours actually spent, shown right on the card.
